Spearheaded by the National Eating Disorders Association, the goal of National Eating Disorders Awareness (#NEDAwareness) Week is to shine the spotlight on eating disorders and put life-saving resources into the hands of those in need. Those efforts were focused on encouraging early intervention and guiding users through a new Responsive Microsite, Social Media Toolkit and online screening tool, which allows them to answer a handful of questions to determine whether they should seek professional help.

"I am so honored to be partnering with NEDA to help reduce the stigma of talking about and treating eating disorders. I want to help NEDA promote the idea that we should all be proud of who we are exactly how we are and if you need help or know someone who does, NEDA is here to help."
“Recovery from an eating disorder doesn’t happen in a vacuum—friends, family members, treatment professionals, activists, and inspirational figures all play important roles. The #RecoveryHeroes campaign is an opportunity to celebrate all of the people who make recovery possible."
In support of NEDA efforts, Aerie launched their Strong, Beautiful, Me campaign. The multi-pronged initiative supported NEDA in a variety of ways. 100% of sales from Aerie’s limited-edition Strong, Beautiful, Me t-shirt were donated to NEDA. The tee was sold in Aerie stores and online at Aerie.com.
From the famed Empire State Building in the east to Los Angeles International Airport’s stylish, 100-foot, glass pylons in the west, more than 70 iconic landmarks in dozens of cities were lit in the signature blue and green colors of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) to put a spotlight on the seriousness of eating disorders.
